COVID-19 Long-Haulers

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), at least one-third of people who had COVID-19 experience neurological complications. They are referred to as COVID-19 Long-Haulers.

The most common COVID-19 Long-Haulers symptoms are fatigue, shortness of breath, trouble sleeping, headaches, and brain fog or difficulty thinking clearly.

In a study conducted by NIH, participants experienced 14 different symptoms on average and had a relapse of symptoms after exercise, mental activity, or everyday stress. Nearly half of the participants said they had to reduce their hours at work due to the severity of their Long-Haulers symptoms.

• Muscle Pain (myalgias) 44.8%
• Headaches 37.7%
• Memory Loss (encephalopathy) 31.8%
• Dizziness 29.7%
• Taste Impairment (dysgeusia) 15.9%
• Loss of Smell (anosmia) 11.4%
